The Great Battle: The Master Deceiver
"Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it."
Satan doesn't appear with horns and a pitchfork - he's far more subtle and dangerous than that. He operates as a master counterfeiter, taking God's truth and twisting it just enough to make lies sound reasonable and appealing.
Think about how he approached Eve in the garden: "Yea, hath God said...?" He didn't outright deny God's command; he simply planted doubt about its validity.

Today, he uses the same tactics, whispering questions about God's goodness, your worth, the seriousness of your sin, and the reliability of Scripture. These lies create strongholds in your mind - false beliefs that feel true because you've believed them for so long. Maybe you've believed the lie that God is disappointed in you, that you're not good enough, or that His promises don't apply to your situation.
The enemy's goal isn't just to make you sin; it's also to destroy your relationship with God by convincing you that He can't be trusted. Recognizing Satan's deceptive nature is the first step toward freedom.
