As a child I grew up in the projects (low income housing). I went to Sunday School sometimes, but never really understood what was being taught to me. I knew there was a God, but that is as far as it went with me.
I Could Not Imagine God Forgiving My Sins:
There Were Just Too Many of Them
-Don Bellesfield
There Were Just Too Many of Them
-Don Bellesfield
My name is Don Bellesfield, and this is my story. When I look back at my childhood, I guess I didn’t grow up much differently than most kids. The only difference I remember was that my parents separated when I was very young. Even so, I wasn’t without things to do, and I had the things most kids had.
What Happened When I Said That Prayer?
-Eric Wolf
-Eric Wolf
My name is Eric Wolf, and this is my story. Growing up, my Dad and Mom regularly took my two brothers and me to Sunday school and church. I am thankful that my parents did, because a very important question was asked of me while attending the 6th grade Sunday school at church.
Who Will Pay for My Sins?
-Nat Williams
-Nat Williams
I grew up near Rochester, New York, and considered myself a good kid. Okay, I wasn’t anything special, but I had Christian parents that passed along Godly values. They taught me to be responsible for my actions, to choose good friends, and to put my best effort into every task. I attended church and became comfortable living in a religious environment.
I Had a Plan for my Life;
Then God Intervened
-Anne Williams
Then God Intervened
-Anne Williams
I was born on February 1, 1983, into a family with two boys and two girls living in Bethlehem. As my brothers, sisters, and I grew up, we attended church every time the doors were open. Church was extremely important to me because I saw all my friends there.
I Was a Typical Teenager:
I Gave No Real Thought to Anything Spiritual
-Corey Petroske
I Gave No Real Thought to Anything Spiritual
-Corey Petroske
My name is Corey Petroske, and this is my story. I was raised attending a United Church of Christ/Lutheran church, whose membership mostly consisted of middle-aged to senior-citizen Pennsylvania Dutch members. There were some other young kids, but they didn’t stay very long. So, obviously, I didn’t feel like I fit in.
I Am So Glad to Be a Child of God!
-Laura Snow
-Laura Snow
I have gone to church all my life. My parents are saved, and we have attended good, Bible-preaching churches all my life. I also went to Christian school and Christian camps. My parents were good testimonies and examples to me, and they have prayed for my salvation ever since I was born. But all these things did not save me.

Have you ever wondered if religion, going to church, or trying to live a good life has any worth? These were all a part of my life for many years.
Even the Preacher’s Kid Needs to Be Born Again!
-Roland Hammett
-Roland Hammett
My name is Roland Hammett, and this is my story. I was born into the Hammett family on August 8, 1976, in the little town of Craig, Colorado. My dad pastored a Baptist church there, and right from the start, I was faithful in church attendance! My parents were always at church, and, of course, I went along with them. Incidentally, I was a well-behaved kid because my dad and mom made sure that I did right.
I Was Nothing But a Religious Hypocrite!
-George Hammett
-George Hammett
If you are like many people in our world today, when you hear about church and religion, you might think immediately of all the hypocrites and showmanship that is often associated with these. Many people have no time for ‘religious’ things, because after all, it’s all just a farce! Or, is it? I have to confess that for the first eleven years of my life, I was nothing but a religious hypocrite.
